Inspection Requirements 

Under LL152, building owners must arrange for periodic inspections of their gas piping systems. These inspections must be conducted by licensed master plumbers or qualified individuals working under their direct supervision. 

Inspection Frequency 

The frequency of inspections depends on the building’s location: 

 Buildings in Community Districts 1, 3, and 10 in all boroughs:  January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020   

 Buildings in Community Districts 2, 5, 7, 13, and 18:  January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021   

 Buildings in Community Districts 4, 6, 8, 9, and 16:  January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022 

 Buildings in Community Districts 11, 12, 14, 15, and 17:  January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023

Inspections cover all exposed gas piping from the point of entry into the building, including building service meters, up to individual tenant spaces. This includes:
